28th October - Swim

17 mins with a pull buoy - ~0.75km

Enjoyed this - was tough on the shoulders and arms, which goes to show I wasn't working them hard enough before.

Physio has referred me to a consultant - appointment tomorrow

27th October - Swim

25mins - under 1km, not sure exactly

Focused very hard on not kicking too hard. Although my knee did start to slightly ache after 15-20 mins.
I then grabbed Jim's pull buoy and tried to swim with that. This was my first time with a pull buoy and the realisation of firstly, the amount my legs were doing, secondly, how much more I could get out of my arms now that I had to, thirdly, how I wasn't actually going that much slower once I got the hang of arms only.

I am pleased that with a pull buoy I have found something that I can train with without hurting my knee.

Physio is possibly going to refer me to a consultant

19th October - Swim (and knee update)

Swim was more recreational, didn't swim too far (under 1km). Knee started to hurt after 20-25 mintues.

I have been having physio on my knee. She has confirmed it is my IT band, also my VL is over developed and tends to swell.
I tried to play football the week before this and again, had knee pain.
In terms of causes, it is likely to be my cycling, probably not using my gluts enough, and maybe my saddle is too high, or my push down is not well-aligned.
